Each rating is mapped to a letter grade so a build reads at a glance. Anything in the nineties is elite, the eighties are strong starters, the seventies are solid rotation quality, the sixties are playable, and anything below that is a genuine weakness a defence can attack.
Overall rating is the arithmetic mean of the ten abilities and stays hidden until the build is finished, so an incomplete player never shows a misleading number.
During a career, abilities grow from real box-score production: points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and how close the games are. Growth is capped per season and stops entirely at 95 overall, so a career cannot simply grind its way to a perfect player.
The last four points are bought, not earned. Summer programs and mid-season investment in the offseason are the only route above 95, which is why money matters in this game.
Anything above 80 is a strength you can build around, the nineties are elite, and anything under 65 is a weakness opponents will attack.
It keeps a ten-ability average readable: the lowest possible player still has a defined rating rather than collapsing toward zero.
The arithmetic mean of the ten abilities in the build, rounded. It is hidden until the build is complete.
Yes, but only through offseason programs and mid-season investment. Natural growth from games stops at 95.
