BUILD A BUCKET / PLAYER FORGE

BUILD A PLAYER

The forge is ten decisions. Each one takes a single ability from a source profile and locks it into your player for the rest of the career.

Build your player
TEMPLATES

GUARD OR BIG, TEN SLOTS EACH

A Guard build works on Jump Shot, Finishing, Passing, Handles, Perimeter Defense, Speed, Bounce, Size, Basketball IQ and Clutch. A Big build swaps the perimeter skills for Rebounding, Playmaking and Interior Defense. Both templates hold ten slots and both can reach the same overall rating.

THE PICKS

HOW A DRAFT RUNS

01

One ability per source

Each revealed profile offers its whole ability line, but you take exactly one. A source can contribute at most twice across a build.

02

Three rerolls, one hold

Reroll the current profile up to three times, or hold one player and come back to it later in the draft.

03

Two badges

After picks four and seven you choose a style badge. Badges are conditional: they activate only when the ratings they need are high enough.

04

Undo and confirm

Every pick can be undone until you lock the next one. Nothing is final until you confirm it.

RATINGS

OVERALL, STYLE AND GROWTH

Your overall rating is the arithmetic mean of the ten abilities, rounded. It stays hidden until the build is complete, so a half-finished player never shows a misleading number.

Finished builds are classified into a play style from their strongest and weakest areas, with an attack, defense and creation summary. During the career, real game production grows your abilities. Natural growth stops at 95 overall, and the summer programs are the only route to the last few points.

QUESTIONS

BUILD QUESTIONS

How many picks does it take to build a player?

Ten. One ability per pick, from ten different source profiles unless you take a second ability from a source you already used.

Can I change a pick after taking it?

Yes. Undo is available for the most recent pick until you lock the next one.

What is a good overall rating?

A completed build usually lands in the sixties to the eighties. Ninety or above needs a strong draft and investment across several seasons.

Do badges change my ratings?

No. Badges never change ability values. They activate when the ratings they depend on are high enough and then affect the simulation.

Can I play a build without finishing it?

No. The career starts once all ten abilities and a name are locked.
