BUILD A BUCKET / HEAD TO HEAD

HEAD TO HEAD

Head to head in Build a Bucket is you against the league. There is no online lobby, and every matchup is a simulated one-on-one or a playoff series you can play game by game.

BEFORE THE DRAFT

THE 1V1 SHOWCASE

Before draft night you play a single 1v1 showcase. Choose the identity you want scouts to write down: a shot maker, a two-way stopper or a complete prospect. The result sets your opening buzz, your starting reputation and the six teams that call you.

THE PLAYOFFS

FOUR ROUNDS OF BEST-OF-SEVEN

The head-to-head season is the postseason. Once the eighty-two games are done, the bracket takes over: first round, conference semifinals, conference finals and the Finals, each a best-of-seven.

You can play a series one game at a time and read each result, or simulate the whole series and move on. Win four games and you advance. Lose four and the season is over.

PLAYING A SERIES

GAME BY GAME, OR ALL AT ONCE

A playoff series is not a single result. Every game inside it is simulated on its own: its own score, its own box score and its own line for your player. The series card keeps the running count so you always know whether you are up 2-1 or down 0-3.

You choose the pace. Simulate one game and read the result, or press Sim the series and let the round resolve in one action. Either way the games are recorded individually, so you can open any of them afterwards and read the full stat line.

MATCHUPS

WHAT DECIDES A HEAD TO HEAD GAME

Your build

Ten abilities decide how you score, pass, defend and rebound. A build with no perimeter defence gives up points no matter how well it shoots.

Your game style

One long-term setting per season: read and react, attack the paint, space the floor, or protect the paint. It changes the real simulation inputs for every game.

Your condition

Fatigue raises injury risk and lowers output. Back-to-backs and heavy minutes cost you, and an injury takes you out of the lineup entirely.

Home court

The schedule alternates home and away, and home teams get the edge in the simulation.
